I'll tell you a secret about GTI Mods

The secret is that once you make major modifications to your car you will void your warranty. The VW dealership prefers doing all the work on your car and may frown upon performance upgrades such as turbo kits and computer chips. It may not even be safe for you to replace your shocks or brakes if you are inexperienced.

    Heya,

Although VW may pressure you to stay out from under the hood, and they may claim that you will void your warranty, you are protected under Federal law in the US by the Magneson Act. In a nutshell, they can not void your warranty for modifying your car unless they can prove that the modification that you made was the direct cause of the problem that you are trying to have fixed under warranty. If you put on a new intake, and you take your car in because you're leaking coolant for instance, they can't void your warranty unless the intake caused your coolant leak. This link has the exact text of the law :)

    peace!
